Hello Joseph, Elke, Dmitry and Maya.
Good to be in contact again Dmitry. Its been a while since we did Kambo together with Jiri.
...And salute to you Joseph and Elke for your stand at Parliament. Thanks for the updates and posts.
I’ve been thinking about what possible benefit could be made from the election. It seems a total waste of time just going back to the same ol’ same old, voting for National or Greens and hoping that some new leader will arise from that toxic mess which is captured by corporatess. It’s tricky.
I’ve read through the YES website. I've also been networking with people on Waiheke and down south of Auckland in Franklin. There are a lot of grass-root community initiatives springing up to create a new way of living. That is something I've longed for for a long time and it's wonderful to see it now being catalysed by the outrageous actions and agendas of the political parties and the global corporates.
Yet, how can we go about creating something new and how can we make use of the existing political system?
I've mapped some ideas and jotted down a bunch of notes.
They cover:
1. The current situation:
a. Politics as it is now.
b. The population mix.
c. Emerging community groups. EG: Food resilience, home schools, global meditation for peace, Time Banks etc. A friend and I plan to map them to get an overall summary of what is developing out there.
2. A Management System vs Politics.
a. The current conflict-based, image-managing parliamentary system.
b. How do we find better ways to manage a nation?
c. The role of democracy.
d. Top-down vs ground-up organic growth.
3. A strategy for the forthcoming elections
a. The current environment and past tendencies
b. A new approach.
4. One possible management system to look at as an example.
I'd prefer to discuss things in person over a few zoom calls. That would be far more connecting and productive that exchanging emails.
Can I suggest that we have two to start with: at the first I'd like to just listen and understand your vision and motives. At the second one I'd like to describe all the aspects as I see them, in order to achieve understanding of where we're each coming from. You don't have to agree, but I'd like cover the whole picture as I see it and check you've got it without mis-undertandings. Successful human communication is a tricky thing.
Then, once we know each other's "view of the elephant" as the old saying goes, we can discuss how we could tackle this.
What d'you think?
